This wedding was so dear to me because I had the pleasure of planning Erica’s fathers wedding three years prior and I just fell in love with their entire family so when I was asked to plan Erica’s wedding I was thrilled ‘to say the least’. Inspired is an understatement to describe the process. Since I had worked on her fathers wedding she had so must trust in me that she allowed me to choose everything on my own and surprise her. This could have been a bit nerve wrecking for some but not for me. I love surprises and I love having the ability to create a wedding that is even more magical than my clients dreams. She literally had no idea what it would look like and that was the best part.
We did have a bit of an challenge on the wedding day as the original plan was to create a church setting on the lawn but thats what backup plans are for. We had to abandon the free standing walls that were to act as the entrance and alter for the sweet little space inside the venue. However, we couldn’t have planned for the state of the grounds after a week of rain and the entire half of the lawn turned to mud. It turns out, after a quick fix of bringing in sheets of plywood here and there, the show went on and it couldn’t have been more fun, rain mud and all!
If Erica was a Disney Princess she would have the face of Cinderella and the demeanor of Snow White. You can see this inspiration in all the little details from gilded animals to Candelabras. Enjoy.
